Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia signed a declaration on the entry into force of the Customs Code of the Customs Union. The Code will work in full regime from July 6. It was stated by Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, at a press conference following the meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council.
«There was signed a statement in connection with that the Customs Code has entered into force. It will enter into force in relations between the three countries on July 6, and for Russia and Kazakhstan it came into force on July 1», the head of Russia said, RIA Novosti informs.
As Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Shuvalov, declarde today, July 5, in Astana, «from tomorrow, July 6, 2010, there forms common customs territory of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. On common customs territory there will be applied common Customs code of the Customs Union and all resulting documents, international treaties», BelTA informs.
As Telegaf previously reported, on July 3, the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, informed that Belarus had ratified the Customs Code and all other documents required to launch the Customs Union in tripartite format. On May 28, Russia and Kazakhstan, without Belarus’ participation, stated that they would introduce the Customs Code and a number of international treaties, adopted to develop the provisions of the Customs Code, from July 1on bilateral basis.
