Customs Union is being created without any failures, Medvedev

The Customs Union of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan is being created on schedule and without significant failures.  Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that on August 16. "There are naturally a lot of difficulties. It is a very large project, we have never solved such problems in the recent history of the Russian state," the Russian president said.

Speaking at a meeting on the investment climate in Russia, Dmitry Medvedev said that it was very important point that government and business should work together to learn to work in new conditions of the Customs Union. «Creating of tools and interstate mechanisms are not an end in itself. It is only a means. Ultimately, they must create favorable conditions for business», RIA Novosti quotes the Russian leader,. 
The turnover of Russia with Belarus and Kazakhstan is a significant share of Russian foreign trade transactions, the president of Russia said. «It’s too large. Even for those reasons we should pay increased attention to this factor», Dmitry Medvedev said.
«Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan should work together to create comfortable conditions for investors in the Customs Union, including investors from the third countries», the Russian head of state said. 
According to Dmitry Medvedev, «on the one hand, foreign partners’ interest in the Customs Union is high». «We are talking about the long-termed, dynamic, growing market, with a significant number of consumers, with a combined population of 175 million people,» the Russian president said. 
«They all are potential consumers, and creating a regulatory framework of the Customs Union, we are primarily guided by the generally accepted rules,» Dmitry Medvedev said. 
However, according to the Russian president it’s necessary to solve many problems. Dmitry Medvedev said that all the investors recognize it. The Russian president held up the cost of crossing the border.
