Ambassador of Belarus Vladimir Drazhin and Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valeri Voronetski visited the Palace of the Lithuanian President in the afternoon on January 5. Press Secretary to the President of Lithuania Linas Balsys said that the Belarusian diplomats had met not with Dalia Grybauskaite, but with the foreign policy adviser Darius Semaska.

«President wasn’t attended. Apparently, they visited the counselor of our group on foreign policy Darius Semashko in the ordinary course. I have nothing else to add. I saw nothing myself,» Lynas Balsys said, DELFI.

Darius Semashko, in turn, confirmed that he had met with the diplomats. Moreover, the Belarusian side was the initiator of the visit, he noted. However,  the Lithuanian foreign policy adviser refused to give any details of the meeting, reiterating that the President of Lithuania, Grybauskaite, hadn’t attended the event.

Belarusian diplomats left the presidential palace at 15:45, accompanied by the Ambassador of Lithuania to Belarus Edminas Bagdonas, but through the exit for the media and employees of the presidential palace, rather than through the exit for the guests, though.
