Head of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Savinykh said on January 25 that an outrageous, destructive information warfare was being waged against Belarus. "Every lie and a provocation are now used to cast doubt on the outcome of the presidential elections and free will of the Belarusian people," said Foreign Ministry spokesman.

Andrei Savinykh pointed to the destructive nature of the recent media reports about the alleged beating of the Hungarian Ambassador to Belarus Ferenc Kontra on December 19, 2010, BelTA informs.

This information is officially contradicted not only in the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, but also in the Hungarian Embassy in Belarus. The Foreign Ministry believes that «time will put everything in its place.»

Meanwhile, a number of Polish media reported that Belarusian police had beaten a group of persons with the ambassador of Hungary to Belarus Ferenc Kontra among them during a protest rally in Minsk on December 19.

As Telegraf previously reported, according to the Belarusian secret services, members of the embassies of Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Latvia, Czech Republic and Sweden were planning to «monitor» the actions in Minsk on December 19. Nevertheless, the detention or beatings of diplomats at the rally were not officially reported.
