Banks of Belarus's neighboring countries continue to devalue the Belarusian ruble. Thus, devaluation is up to 50% in some Latvian banks. In addition, as it's found out by Telegraf journalists, not all banks of neighboring countries can carry out operations with the Belarusian rubles.

Thus, Rietumu Banka (Latvia) sells the dollar at Br4.6 thousand by wire transfer. March 22, the official bank rate stood at Br3.75 per dollar, that is the rate has depreciated by 22% for two weeks; by 50% against the official rate of Belarus’s National Bank. What is more, the bank does not carry out the exchange of cash rubles at all.

The situation with cash transactions in Belarusian rubles is also quite difficult in Moscow. So, «KKB» Kreditbank» informed Telegraf journalist about holding no operation with the Belarusian ruble, both cash or noncash. The same situation, as it’s turned out, can be observed  in «KB «MAST-Bank.» It explained that the bank lacks Belarusian rubles in principle. At the same time «KB» Mezhtrastbank» is ready to buy and sell Belarusian rubles.

RUB-to-Br ratio is also growing steadily. According to the official exchange rate of Russia’s Central Bank, the Russian ruble amounted to Br92.9 rubles on Wednesday, April 6. The Russian ruble has risen against the Belarusian ruble by 0.3% for the day.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Belarusian authorities won’t devalue the national currency, despite the fact that international financial experts consider it a necessary condition for the country’s economic recovery. Thus, experts of Moody’s international rating agency believe that event, similar to the Russian financial crisis of 2008-2009, may occur in Belarus because of devaluation problems.
