Thursday, May 19, the dollar exchange rate reached Br9 thousand on the OTC foreign market. Quotes of the Belarusian banks for the dollar purchase ranged from Br7.5 thousand to Br8.8 thousand per dollar. Exporters are willing to give Br9 thousand per dollar. Despite the low activity in the market, the transactions at the rate of Br8.8 have already been carried out.
As Telegraf previously reported, Wednesday, May 18, the rate for the dollar reached $8 thousand on the OTC market. However, the market is missing transactions due to complete lack of supply, said officials of several Belarusian banks.
May 19, the official rate of National Bank of Belarus equals Br3.130 for a dollar, while Br4.466.82 for a euro and Br111.6 for the Russian ruble. At the same time the «black dollar rate» ranges from Br6.3-7 thousand to Br7.5-8 thousand. Thus, the unofficial devaluation of the Belarusian ruble in comparison with the country’s main bank’s rate amounted to more than 100%.
