Deputy chairman of the Russian gas monopoly, Valery Golubev, declared that Belarus pledged to repay its debts for Russian gas supplies. However, the representative of Gazprom did not specify the possible date of Belarus' debt repayment for Russian gas, saying only "do not worry — the Belarusian side will pay".

«Belarus promises to pay every day», Valery Golubev said, responding to reporters’ questions about how the talks with Belarus are going on. However, the deputy head of Gazprom did not name the possible volume of gas supplies reduction in case of failure to repay the debt by Belarus, RIA Novosti informs.

According to the representative of the Russian gas monopoly, everything’s to be clear on June 21.

Previously, as Telegraf reported, Gazprom representative, Sergei Kupriyanov, reported that Gazprom had warned Belarus about future restriction of gas delivery in the country if Belarus refused to repay the outstanding debts of Beltransgaz in amount of 200 million dollars.

According to Sergei Kupriyanov, Gazprom proposed to take «exhaustive measures to repay acccumulated debts till June, 21».

Before that, Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, at a meeting with Gazprom’s Board chairman, Alexei Miller, gave Belarus five days to decide on payment of the debt for Russian gas delivered in 2010. According to Russian leader, this term is defined «taking into account that we cooperate with Belarus as partners».
