In Belarus, during International Car Free Day to be held on September 22, all holders of driver's licenses may be allowed use public transport for free. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus applied with this initiative to regional executive committees and Minsk City Executive Committee.

The head of the department of regulation of impacts on air and water resources of the Ministry of Nature, Sergei Zavialov, believes that transport organizations will not bear large losses from such action, Narodnaya gazeta informs.

«But together we can draw public attention to the problems of air pollution, and as a result it will be useful not only for environment but also for every citizen of our country», the official noted.

Each year, during International Car Free Day, thousands of Belarusian drivers leave their cars, and the heads of organizations and institutions of government recommend to encourage such workers.
