Economic Growth of Belarus Closes to the Chinese, World Bank.

The World Bank considers, that it is appropriate to look at the experience of Belarusian economic management and production energy efficiency. Vice-President of the World Bank's Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Houerou made this statement. According to Vice-President, Belarus managed to "perform such growth, which is closer to the Chinese than European." 

According to Philippe Le Houerou, the World Bank assessed the economic development of Belarus and intends to encourage other countries to learn this experience.

«Honestly speaking, during this visit, I would like to examine how this was achieved. And I think that other countries can benefit from your experience,» — said the banker.

The World Bank also noted «an enormous reduction of poverty, as well as energy efficiency improving», BelTA informs.

Partnerships is based on trust. Belarus and the World Bank have been partners for over ten years. We are very pleased with the results and hope that over next ten years of cooperation, they will only improve, «- said vice-president of the World Bank.

Referring to the further development of Belarus, Philippe Le Houerou suggested that republic’s economic development strategy is»correctly oriented». «Maybe we can help you to achieve planned aims,» — added the vice-president of the World Bank.

Vice-president of the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia, Philippe Le Houerou said that the bank has expanded the opportunities for financial support to Belarus and looks forward to further deepening of the partnership.

Belarus is a member of the World Bank since 1992 and during this period the country received $ 643 million for the implementation of nine projects, about 30 national programs received grant support totaling $ 18 million.
