On July 16, Deputy Minister of Economy, Andrei Tur, stated that in the frames of liberalization there was a task to abolish price regulation in the country almost in full. "There remain just 20 items, related to socially important goods and tariffs", deputy head of Economy Ministry noted.

«In Belarus, we can refuse price regulation», the representative of Ministry of Economy believes. «Not today or tomorrow, but in the short term perspective we will be able to do that. But, as the experience shows, it is difficult to carry out the liberalization of prices, if not to revise rationing system of the cost component».

However, deputy minister explained that if the costs norms remain, so, prices regulation remains indirectly as well. «That’s why it is important this issue to be resolved as soon as possible, and with the help of entrepreneurs», BelTA quotes Andrei Tur.

«And here it’s necessary the work to move not only towards the abolition of some decrees of the government or Economy Ministry, associated with the regulation of prices. There must be essential solution, related to the rationing of cost components», deputy head of Economy Ministry noted.
