Elections to Be Held in Accordance with International Standards, Lukashenko

The upcoming presidential elections in Belarus will be held in strict accordance with national legislation and international standards. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, taking credentials from ambassadors of foreign countries on October 25. The Belarusian leader assured that he would do his best to hold the elections right this way.

Addressing the diplomats, the head of state noted that the political and business life of the country is open to them. «You all can see with your own eyes,» BelTA quoted the head of the Belarusian State.

At the same time Alexander Lukashenko expressed the hope that the ambassadors would be «friendly and impartial observers of the processes occurring in the country.» «Let’s work together in making our peoples closer and strengthening long-term relationship between our countries,» President of Belarus said.

In addition, according to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is developing dynamically. «The liberalization of the economy and the liberation of creative and entrepreneurial initiative have become particularly relevant. We are actively working to create a favorable investment climate. Today, Belarus is striving to acquire new technologies, access to know-how,» the Belarusian leader said.

«Cooperation in the scientific field and the field of modern industrial development is one of the components of the dialogue with the international community,» Alexander Lukashenko added.

The president is confident that «this dialogue will develop in a constructive manner on the principles of good neighbourship and consent.» According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is open for mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries of the world. «We are interested in the economic partnership, ready to initiate joint projects, to support all good initiatives fully,» the Belarusian leader noted.
