The leader of the Movement "For Freedom" Aliaksandr Milinkevich believes that the recognition of the presidential elections by the EU as legitimate is quite possible. The politician is sure that the West and the EU will have no concessions for the incumbent Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.

«One won’t be able to enter Europe through the back door. Integration and a significant improvement of relations are possible only under conditions, announced long ago and familiar to everybody,»»Nasha Niva«quoted Aliaksandr Milinkevich.

«I think that the EU is now disappointed with relations with Belarus, the politician said. — The relation were hoped to be greatly improved, but it did not happen. On the other hand, the improvement of relations with our country still remains an important direction for Europe. The question of elections will be probably touched upon. Both the EU and all of us insist not to build democracy as long as there is no transparent and free elections in the country.»

«In my opinion, human rights can not be forgotten about at this moment. There are political prisoners in Belarus, routinely the rights of individuals are constantly violated, all this is worth talking about,» the leader of the Movement «For Freedom» said.

Aliaksandr Milinkevich also recalled that meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov and Poland Radoslaw Sikorski had recently taken place in Warsaw. «Just before the visit of the latter to Minsk. Doesn’t it indicate the existence of agreements between the EU and Russia on the Belarusian issue? I believe that Belarus is not so prominent in Europe for such a meeting to deal only with us. We are not so important even to our neighbors,» Aliaksandr Milinkevich thinks.

According the politician, the EU is making efforts to develop relations with Russia and a meeting in Warsaw is a prove. «Of course, the Belarusian issue could be discussed, but it’s not worth talking about the existence of specific agreements between the EU and Russia on Belarus,» Aliaksandr Milinkevich said.
