President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus admitted on Monday, 20 December that he voted for himself at the presidential election on December 19. "I know that it wasn't very reputable of me to have done so, but it's the first time in my life when I voted for myself, for Lukashenko, all the more, at the tip of my little son (Kolia)," Lukashenko said during a press conference in Minsk.

The Belarusian leader said that his baby had been «blackmailing» him a week before the election. «If you don’t give me a candy, I will not vote for you,» Lukashenko quoted his son Kolia, Korrespondent.net.

«When we received the ballot, we went into the voting booth, the kid took a sheet and began to read (he reads well), and said: «Dad, look, Alexander G. Lukashenko. Let me vote for you,» Lukashenko said.

«And I voted for myself,» Lukashenko said. At the same time, he noted that probably no one had expected him to say he had voted for himself.

As Telegraf previously reported, presidential elections were held Belarus on December 19. The incumbent president Alexander Lukashenko won the elections by getting 79.67% of votes after counting of 100% of ballots.

At the same time, the opposition candidate Vladimir Niakliaeu and Andrei Sannikov demanded that the Central Election Commission to cancel the results of early voting.

As reported, after the voting the opposition held an unsanctioned rally at Kastrychnitskaya Square in central Minsk, and then went to the Government House.

Demonstrators attempted to capture the Government House, but action was suppressed by the internal troops and Special Forces.
According to the media, three opposition candidates — Rygor Kastusiou, Andrei Sannikov and Nikolai Statkevich, were detained in Minsk. Besides, the presidential candidate Vladimir Niakliaeu received an internal brain injury in the result of clashes with the police.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry denied reports of some media that some people had been killed in the clashes of police and opposition supporters.
