The Secretary of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda Nikolai Lozovik said that the participation of foreign diplomats in elections monitoring is possible only under the condition that they receive an invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and provide a package of necessary documents. "Then the CEC accredits foreign diplomats," — said the secretary.
Nikolai Lozovik said that diplomats of foreign countries expressed willingness to participate in monitoring of election to the local councils of deputies in Belarus, BelTA informs.
«We will consider applications as they become available. In general, requests are for short term observation- on election day- April 25. Therefore, we expect to give diplomats accreditation cards two or three days before the election,» — said the Election Commission.
