Former Head of Octyabrski District of Minsk on Trial For Bribery And Embezzlement

Minsk City Court began hearing on a criminal case against Mikhail Tsygan- former head of Octyabrski district administration of the capital. Former official charged with acceptance of bribes and embezzlement by misuse of official authority power.

The former head of one of the metropolitan district is suspected of accepting bribes from representatives of commercial organizations and other persons, abuse of authority and official powers, causing the substantial harm to the rights and lawful interests of citizens and public interest, embezzlement by misuse of official powers, as well as committing unlawful acts toward ammunition.

According to law enforcement officials, the accused committed the crime, which discredit the state apparatus and are incompatible with his position.

The indictment alleges that the former head of the district for four years repeatedly received cash and material gifts in the form of food items, gasoline, free use of saunas and swimming pool, received a substantial discount on an apartment building, BelTA informs.

According to the investigation,to conceal the facts of abuse of power Mikhail Tsygan designed his share construction contract to another person. Former head of the district also charged in receiving as a gift from a representative of UE «Business-tour» a bank card credited on one thousand dollars for the creation of favorable environment for business.
