President Alexander Lukashenko, speaking March 16 in the National Assembly of Venezuela, said that the current system of international relations is still unbalanced. "All we can see, that neither a superpower nor a narrow circle of the "Group of Eight" is not capable to address present global problems effectively and for the benefit of the entire world community, "- said president.

The Belarusian leader believes that in the process of solving global problems «the United Nations as the most representative international organization should play a leading role on the principles of justice and fairness .» «The complexity and diversity of today’s threats requires the active use of all available opportunities for cooperation», — said Alexander Lukashenko, the press office of head of state reports.

«Unfortunately, some states play in the international arena according to their own rules, which are objectively obsolete out-of-date and based on — the desire to impose their will and understanding of human rights, democracy and freedom,» — said President of Belarus.

According to the Belarusian leader, it leads «to dictate and monopoly, which is absolutely not acceptable in modern conditions.» Alexander Lukashenko stressed that unipolar world, concentration and abuse of power became major causes of the global financial crisis. «Unipolar world finally proved own incapabilty and the futility of such world order,» — said President of Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the only true tool to overcome new threats is the policy of partnership. «I call on all countries regardless of their political orientation and ideology to unite in resolving the most acute problems such as hunger, poverty, access to energy resources, human trafficking, drug trafficking, armed conflicts, natural and manmade disasters. Otherwise, the survival of mankind will be threated  «, — said the president.

Strong mutually beneficial relations with Russia and the EU are important for Belarus, Lukashenko says.

Speaking about the foreign policy priorities of Belarus in the National Assembly of Venezuela, Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Strong mutually beneficial relations with Russia, EU and CIS countries are important for Belarus.

«We see a chance for the efficient use of our advantageous geographical location, transit and industrial capacity. It is in the development of constructive engagement with partners on the east and west, » — said the Belarusian leader.

Head of State drew attention to the fact, that Belarus effectively solved issues related to the uninterrupted transit of Russian energy to Europe. «Belarus as a reliable and responsible partner of the European Union in the fight against crime, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other cross-border challenges», — assured Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the president, for Belarus, as well as for Venezuela, the absolute priority is the development of relations between our closest neighbors. «Belarus, like Venezuela, — is the leader of regional integration. Creation of the Customs Union between Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan in January 2010  marked a qualitatively new stage of integration in the history of these countries.»

Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus doesn’t separate itself from Europe, which has a common cultural and historical heritage, largely overlapping economic interests. «In fact, the development of our relations with European neighbors in areas such as energotranzit, transportation, migration, political stability, is more than local two-sided format relations and reached the level of common European importance» — said President of Belarus.

Belarus and Venezuela share the experience of creating a national defense system, Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian leader also said that Belarus proposed to Venezuela to share the experience of creating a national defense system. «We offered to your president to share the experience of creating a  national defense system, and if it is his will, we will promptly do so», — said Alexander Lukashenko.

«And you will be able to live and create. To live and not think, whether the powers of the world will be friends, or will build a conspiracy against you,» — added the president of Belarus.

The efforts of the international community fail to address global challenges, Lukashenko said.

Belarusian President also thanked the Venezuelan side for the support in the implementation of the Belarusian initiatives in the UN. Alexander Lukashenko recalled that group of friends from 20 countries — members of a global partnership to combat human trafficking was established in the UN recently initiated by Belarus and the actively supported by Venezuela.

The Belarusian leader noted with regret that the efforts of the international community fail to address these problems. «The reason of high activity in this sphere, including drug trafficking is the huge flow of funds in this sector from the United States and some other developed countries that are major consumers of drugs,» — Alexander Lukashenko believes.
