The chairman of Gazprom board of directors Alexei Miller has informed in the morning on June, 22nd that  the Russian holding finished reduction of the amounts of gas deliveries to Belarus by 30 % since 10:00 Moscow time. According to the head of Gazprom, such decision is accepted in connection with absence of progress in question of payment by Belarus of gas debts, accumulated from the beginning of 2010.

As Telegraf informed, on June, 21st Belarus offered Gazprom a compromise plan of solving the payment problem of gas delivery in 2010. According to the offer of the Belarus government, the Russian company should pay immediately the debt for transit at a rate of 217 million dollars.

In this case Belarus is ready to repay debts for gas delivery at a rate of 187 million dollars, accumulated from the beginning of 2010, till July, 5th. It is also ready to pay in full for gas, delivered in May till June, 23rd.

In the meantime the representatives of Gazprom informed that if Belarus continued to pay for gas at the last year’s price, the debt for gas delivery would reach approximately 250 million dollars on June, 23rd. The Belarusian party stated that it would pay for gas deliveries at the price of 184 dollars for one thousand cubic metre as it is provided by the contract on the second quarter. In the first quarter Belarus, referring to top-level arrangements, paid for gas at the price of 150 dollars instead of 169 dollars provided by contract.
