Gazprom Stopped to Accept Transit Acts from November, Semashko

At a meeting with journalists Vice-Premier of Belarus, Vladimir Semashko, reported that Gazprom owes Beltransgaz 260 million dollars. According to the deputy head of the government, this amount has accumulated since November 2009, when Russian company stopped to accept acts of Beltransgaz. There were stated clearly how much fossil fuel had passed in transit through our country and what was the tariff, Vice Premier of Belarus said.

According to Vladimir Semashko, within ten months of last year, Gazprom paid Beltransgaz for gas transit regularly, BelTA informs.

Under the contract, the tariff was 1.74 dollars per thousand cubic meters per 100 km. At the same time, Gazprom paid 1.45 dollars. Thus, there has accumulated the debt for transit in the amount of 260 million dollars, deputy head of Belarusian government explained.

Vladimir Semashko noted that gas transit through Belarus brings about 0.5 billion dollars of additional profits for Gazprom each year because of the lowest tariffs and shortest route.

As the Deputy Prime Minister recalled, the Belarusian side has repeatedly offered gas company to carry out offsetting of debts.
