Gross domestic product increased by 12.3% in January-April 2011 against the same period 2010. This is evidenced by data from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus. GDP growth amounted to 13% in the sphere of production, and 9.7% — in the services sector.
According to the Ministry of Statistics, industrial production amounted to Br68.97 trillion, which is 12.9% more compared to January-April 2010, AFN.
The volume of agricultural production has risen by 4.2% to Br6.88 trillion; investment in fixed capital increased by 23.4% to Br16.89 trillion. Retail turnover has grown by 20.6% to Br25.64 billion. The volume of housing construction has fallen by 0.4% and amounted to 1486.0 thousand square meters, according to the statistics.
In accordance with the forecast of socio-economic development for 2011, approved by the government, GDP growth should amount to 9-10%, while industrial production — 9-9.5%.
