Georgia Has Splendid Ties with Belarus, Saakashvili

Georgia has "splendid ties" with Belarus, Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili, stated. Georgian leader said that despite political twists and turns former Soviet republics must maintain old ties.

«We love very much Belarusians, Moldovans, Ukrainians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis and Russians, and all other people who lived in a common state — the Soviet Union. And no matter which political twists and turns, conditionality are there, and there is conditionality and even very concrete, we still have to overcome them», Mikheil Saakashvili said during a meeting with Acting President of Moldova, Mihai Ghimpu.

In the course of the meeting the politicians visited Anaklia youth camp on the Black Sea coast, where teenagers from Moldova, suffered from flood this year, as well as teenagers from Belarus are on vacation, Civil Georgia informs.

«The world is expanding for us and we gain new friends … But we should not forget old friends because old friends are tried-and-true friends, and we have a lot in common», Saakashvili stressed.
