Head of CIS Observers' Mission at Elections in Belarus to Be Determined on September 23

Permanent representatives of the Commonwealth of Independent States are to determine the head of the mission of CIS observers at the presidential election in Belarus at the meeting, which is to be held on September 23. This was reported in the CIS Executive Committee.

Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary, is expected to become the head, BelTA informs.
The Executive Committee has sent letters to the presidents of the CIS countries, to the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus and Russia, as well as to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly asking to send nominees to be accredited as observers. The corresponding messages has also been sent to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Executive Committees of CIS countries.
As Telegraf informed, the CEC of Belarus informed on September 20 that the CIS observers will start working in Belarus for the next few days.
