Head of Internal Affairs of Hrodna voblast executive committee, police colonel Valentin Mikhnevich expressed his gratitude to the entire personnel of Hrodna police "for high professional activities during preparation and holding of presidential elections in Belarus." Hrodna Special Forces soldiers, worked in Minsk during the opposition rally on December 19, were met solemnly at home, even with the orchestra.
«All these days Special Forces fighters worked in the capital, guarding the Government House during the protest actions. Basically, all of them returned unharmed, only some employees received minor injuries,» police department employees of Hrodna voblast executive committee said in an article of their newspaper «Militseyski Vestnik.»
However, this article was soon removed from the site of the newspaper, as readers had perceived the story very negatively and left dozens of unpleasant comments to Hrodna Special Forces.
