IMF Review Mission Begins its Work in Belarus

The Review Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began its work in Belarus on Wednesday, November 3. This was reported in the IMF mission in Belarus. Members of the IMF delegation are expected to hold meetings with the Belarusian deputies, representatives of the National Bank of Belarus, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy. The IMF mission will complete its work on November 16.

According to Telegraf, IMF mission members will be engaged in preparing a review of economic policy of Belarus for 2010, and will also discuss cooperation with Belarusian authorities over the medium term, as well as its policies for 2011.

Thus, the IMF representatives are expected to discuss monetary, fiscal and exchange rate policies with the Belarusian authorities during the visit. It is also scheduled to address issues of structural reforms and plans of the authorities on this point over the next three to five years.
