According to the National Statistics Committee, the most minimal wages gap between men and women is observed in the construction sector. Thus, the average salary of women in 2009 amounted to 1.46 million rubles here against 1.48 million for men.
In the timber industry, as well as in agriculture, the differences between «male» and «female» wages are less than 1%. Meanwhile, the data show that in the industry, the men got 40% more than women, although the last category makes up more than a half of industry human resources.
