May 14, Grodno Regional Court has announced its verdict on the application of exceptional punishment (execution and confiscation of property) to two Grodno residents who in October of last year in Grodno killed two women and a man, kidnapped a son of the killed woman, as well as concealing vestiges of a crime, committed flat's arson. The court found the suspects guilty on all incrimination's points.
The offenders were charged with the murder of two or more people with special cruelty, combined with the robbery committed by a group of people, assault caused grievous bodily harm, willful damage of property by arson, kidnapping of a minor by a group of people, armed assault on a taxi driver, attempt to steal a car and theft of documents, BelTA informs.
Within ten days, the defendants can appeal the verdict in the Supreme Court of Belarus and write an appeal for pardon to the head of state.
The killers have 28 and 29 years (1980 and 1981 years of birth).The residents of regional center have previously been repeatedly convicted of thefts, evading of punishment, hooliganism, fraud, burglary and robbery. Before early discharge, they served their sentences in Novopolotsk correctional institution together.
The young people committed triple murder on October 13, 2009. In the own apartment, there were brutally murdered 34-year-old woman, her 65-year-old father-in-law and one more 52-year-old woman.
The criminals left alive only 11-year-old son of the house’ mistress, whom they took with, threatening to kill if he told anyone about what he had seen. On leaving, the killers burned the apartment. Rescue workers arrived at the fire and found the dead with shows of knife wounds. In addition, trying to escape from the place of the crime, one of the criminals robbed a taxi driver for refusing to take them in Minsk or Moscow.
Law enforcement officers in hot pursuit managed to detain the suspects and save the boy, who was not physically injured.
