Anatoly Shumchenko, the head of the organization "Prospect", said that businessmen won, since Minsk Voblast Executive Committee revoked interdiction of beer and other low alcohol drinks sale in booths at public transport stops. The businessman also noticed that businessmen lost a lot of money, and their faith in authorities was definitively shaken, because of this interdiction.

According to Anatoly Shumchenko, businessmen are suspicious to the given easing and they are going to appeal with the similar request to the executive committees of other voblasts. «We used to appeal to local authorities on this issue. Last year we wrote the requests to all regional executive committees. We held the meeting of the businessmen for beer. We’ve appealed in this year as well. And this is really it», the leader of «Prospect» said, «Salidarnasts» informs.

However, Anatoly Shumchenko said, that the things were not as good, as they could be. «Small-scale business was considerably harmed. Besides, now it is talked about permission to trade in beer in the pavilions with trading floor. It means that businessman have to re-equip or change them. That will cause additional financial losses», the businessman emphasized.

The expert considers that the officials revoked interdiction for beer sale in booths at stops of public transport, because of the pitiable economic situation. «The situation in regional economy and also condition of our beer sector influenced greatly the decision. Local authorities used to co-ordinated their steps on interdiction of trade in beer in booths and pavilions», Anatoly Shumchenko said. He added that as a result «beer was not sold almost everwhere in Belarus in the centres of small retail trade».

The chairman of «Prospect» said, that businessmen hope now that such coordination would go in the opposite direction. «Better late, than never, and businessmen lost a lot of money. Many of them simply used to sell at sacrifice», Anatoly Shumchenko said.

In his opinion, sole proprietors, having their faith in authorities shaken, are not sure, that nobody will come in a year after they open pavilion to sale beer, and will say to stop beer sale.

As Telegraf informed, Minsk Voblast executive committee revoked interdiction to sell beer and other low alcohol drinks with volume fraction of ethyl spirit no more than 7 % in booths at public transport stops. This interdiction was imposed in Minsk Voblast in the end of the summer last year according to the decision of Minsk Voblast executive committee № 479, passed on May, 19th, 2009.
