Interuniversity Video Channel Can Be Created in Belarus

Director of BSU Television Center, Alexander Parfentsov, reported that the concept of interuniversity "University-TV" video channel is being discussed in higher educational establishments of Belarus.  According to the director, it is possible that Belarusian students will have their own video channel in 2010-2012.


«University-TV» will inform students and teachers about the events taking place in high school community, will provide coverage of government policy on education, training and development of cultural potential in youth environment. Video channel content will consist of thematic video blocks for three to five minutes, including the informational (news, sports, weather), educational, recreational, social and civil projects», said Alexander Parfentsov.

According to the specialist, video channel is being worked out to create an informational and educational video channel. The developers are planning that BSU buildings will be first to connect this video channel, then other Minsk and all Belarusian universities will join it, informs BelTA.

«At the moment, we are working not only to discuss the concept, but also to form editorial staff which will produce video product for the target audience, in cooperation with press agencies and universities’ departments of educational work», said the director of BSU Television Center.

The specialist explained that for technical realization of the project it is planned to place media complexes — consisting of large-format LCD TV set and computer control block- in the places of students mass gathering in university buildings.
