Investigator Baikova Is Taken to KGB Hospital

Senior investigator for especially important cases of the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus, Svetlana Baikova, has been sent to the hospital of the State Security Committee. It was reported by the lawyer of Svetlana Baikova, Mikhail Volchek.

«Today, I wanted to meet with Svetlana in the morning, but they told me that it was impossible so far, since she had been taken to hospital», Mikhail Volchek said, Narodnaya Volya informs.

As Telegraf already reported, senior investigator for especially important cases of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Belarus, Svetlana Baikova, needed urgent hospitalization because of acute renal failure.

Mikhail Volchek sent a petition to the chairman of KGB, Vadim Zaitsev, and Prosecutor General, Grigory Vasilevich, with a request to change Svetlana Baikova measure of restraint in the form of detention on recognizance not to leave or, in case of refusal, to bring the woman into a medical facility in Minsk to provide immediate professional medical assistance.

She is charged with attempt to unlawful exemption from criminal liability, unlawful exemption from criminal liability and abuse of power or official authorities, and with bringing charges against the known to be innocent and knowingly false arrest or detention.
