July 7, Deputy Chairman of the Provisional Government of Kyrgyzstan, Azimbek Beknazarov, stated that the Kyrgyz side would repeat a request to Belarus for the extradition of ousted Kyrgyz President, Kurmanbek Bakiyev. "When the interim government sent the request for the first time, the authority in Kyrgyzstan was not legitimized," the deputy chairman of the interim government said.

«It’s natural that it affected the response of a foreign country. I have instructed the Prosecutor General, Baytemir Ibraev, to send a repeat request to Belarus», 24.kg agency quotes Azimbek Beknazarov.

Furthermore, according to deputy chairman of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan, he addressed Interpol with a question: «Is it true that the brothers of Bakiyev are in Belarus?». «They say, Janysh Bakiyev was noted at a press conference of Kurmanbek Bakiyev», Azimbek Beknazarov added.

As Telegraf already reported, Belarus’ General Prosecutor’s Office responded negatively to the request of Kyrgyz General Prosecutor’s Office on the extradition of Kurmanbek Bakiyev, referring to the political causes of his persecution at home.

As the chief of Inspections Department of the Kyrgyz General Prosecutor’s Office, Sumar Nasiza, reported, «the General Prosecutor’s Office of Belarus referred to subparagraph E of paragraph 8 of Chisinau Convention on legal assistance of 2002, according to which, the extradition of citizens can not be realized if there are grounds to consider that the request relates to the persecution of a person on racial, religious or political reasons».
