Latushko: Belarus Will Join the "Kyiv Initiative"

Minister of Culture Pavel Latushko said that Belarus intends to join program of the Council of Europe "Kiyv Initiative". According to the minister, Belarus received positive responses from almost all countries and hopes to join the program very soon.

Pavel Latushko reminded that start of  «Kyiv Initiative» was given in 2006 on a meeting of culture ministers of the Council of Europe in Bucharest.  Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are initiators of the project, informs BelTA.

«Belarus sent request for accession to the «Kyiv Initiative» to the heads of culture departments of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine . The same petition was sent to Director General of the Council of Europe «, — stressed the Minister.

The project «Kyiv initiative brings together activities of the Council of Europe carried out in the region, as well as the results of completed projects, which include legislative reform, reform of history teaching in South Caucasus, improvement of protection of historical spots by municipalities, cooperation between cities in development of cultural tourism.
