The Lithuanian Government intends to limit the duty-free import of fuel from Russia and Belarus. This is reported by the press service of the Lithuanian Prime Minister, Andrius Kubilius. The government decided to impose taxes on fuel in the tanks of cars and cans. To accomplish this, it is planned to install special equipment at each customs point to determine whether this type of fuel tank is viewed as standard.

It is also scheduled to decide on things through the Lithuanian customs border as personal baggage, told the press service of the Lithuanian prime minister.

In case of suspicions that some carried things can be used for commercial purposes, luggage will also be exempt from customs duties. «The criterion will be the frequency of visits to neighboring states: if there are more than five times a month, an individual can be assumed to cross the border with commercial interests,» said in a press release of the press service of the Lithuanian Prime Minister.
