Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, with the aim of further liberalization of economic activity decided to abolish compulsory licenses to have a right to organize and hold cultural and entertainment events on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and ordered the president's administration to prepare the relevant draft normative legal act as soon as possible.

As the press office of the head of state informs, such a step was made taking numerous requests from artists and organizers of concerts into account. At the moment, they are required to obtain a certificate for every concert or show and pay state fee for it in the amount of up to 300 basic values (one basic value is equal to Br35 thousand — Telegraf).

According to the head of state, such a procedure creates unnecessary paperwork and additional financial costs as a result both spectators and performers suffer.

According to the president’s decision, permitting principle of organization of cultural and entertainment events will be replaces for notifying what will allow state agencies to plan and regulate concert activity without infringing upon audience, performers and producers’ interests. The decision of Belarusian president removes all those obstacles for the development of modern, civilized show business in the country, the press-service informs.
