Lukashenko Allows to Corporatize Belaruskali and Oil Pipelines

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, by his decree № 331 instructed to reorganize some unitary enterprises into open joint stock companies. It will concern state-owned enterprises, engaged in production and processing of potash ores, transportation of oil and petroleum products, jewelry production, insurance and railway transport services.

On this occasion in the press service of the head of state recalled that earlier the government had examined in detail the issues of future development of these enterprises and considered this step as reasonable.

«Such reorganization will create conditions for attracting domestic and foreign investors, interested in long-term economic ties, who are ready to take obligations to implement social conditions, technical upgrading and increase of enterprises’ competitiveness, and it will also reduce expenses of national budget for the management of public property», stated in the presidential administration.

However, at this stage, 100% of the shares of these companies will be kept in state property, what, according to the press service of Alexander Lukashenko, will assist to create conditions for attracting strategic investors in these enterprises. These shares are not for sale on favorable terms for cash and can not be exchanged for Property (Imushchestvo) vouchers, stressed in the presidential press service.

The decree enters into force after its official publication.
