Lukashenko and Aliyev Agreed on Mutual Protection of Investments

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev came to the agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments. Agreement was signed on June, 3rd in Baku as the result of negotiations of the presidents of two countries.

Speaking about the negotiations with Alexander Lukashenko «in private», Ilham Aliyev noticed that the presidents «discussed in details the wide bilateral summons, regional questions, the international affairs». » It is planned to sign a lot of documents as the result of negotiations «, he added. He also mentioned rather extensive legal base between the countries.

In the joint declaration also signed today, the leaders of two countries noticed, that mutual investments are one of the main factors of economic cooperation. They agreed to support, protect and develop investments into the sectors of energy, trade, heavy industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture, transport, communications, and others, where there is mutual interest, BelTA informs.

The parties also  signed intergovernmental cooperation agreements in the secttors of information and information technologies, science and technologies. They signed cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Belarus and the State committee on problems of a family, women and children of Azerbaijan. The leaders also concluded the treaties about cooperation in preservation of the environment, statistics, cooperation between Committee of the state control of Belarus and Audit Chamber of Azerbaijan.

Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev also consider, that cooperation in the sectors of energy, agriculture, building, tourism and high technologies is very perspective. The leaders of two countries also expressed readiness to develop and deepen interaction in the sector of transit and transport communications. They are going to create and provide favorable conditions to realize transport operations using air and water communication lines, automobile roads and railways, pipelines located in territories of Belarus and Azerbaijan.

The presidents expressed determination to take measures to escalate seriously goods turnover, to encourage creation of workplaces. They agreed also to take the possible joint steps, directed on maintenance of economic growth, business development, deep industrial cooperation, expansion of the possibilities of an entry of the goods and services on the markets of Azerbaijan, Belarus and the third countries. They also supported the organisation of the business forums, promoting strengthening of contacts between businessmen of two countries.

Besides, the parties will exchange their experience in the sector of the European integration, realisation of the individual plan of cooperation with the European Union. They will also co-ordinate their positions within Eastern partnership.
