Lukashenko and Ghimpu Discussed Gas Conflict with Russia

On June 23, at the initiative of the Moldovan side there was held a telephone conversation between the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and the Acting President of Moldova, Mihai Ghimpu. Head of Moldova asked his Belarusian counterpart about the essence of Belarus-Russia gas conflict and position of the Belarusian side.

The two leaders also discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, press service of the president informs.

Alexander Lukashenko and Mihai Ghimpu agreed to instruct the heads of the governments to audit the state of Belarusian-Moldavian relations in all spheres. During the conversation the sides also reviewed some aspects of the countries’ interaction within the Eastern Partnership

As Telegraf previously reported, on June 22, the president of Belarus talked over gas conflict with Russia with Azerbaijani president, Ilham Aliyev, and Kazakh president, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
