State Duma deputy from United Russia party, political analyst Sergei Markov, noted the braking of integration process of the Union State creation. "On the way to its construction there formed obstacles. Firstly, there appeared personality conflicts between Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, and the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko", the analyst said.

«Secondly, it was discovered that Lukashenko, who rushed to integration some time ago, started to make the unification process go slow, to demand too large concessions from Russia. It was one of the causes of tensions between our countries’ leadership», Sergei Markov said, United Russian Portal informs.

The MP admitted that the project to create the Union State faced a number of key problems. «The first is the need to agree with the model of «one country — two socio-economic systems «, political scientist noted. «According to this model China and Hong Kong united in certain time. The second problem is the need to move to a single currency. The third is the need to stop anti-Kremlin propaganda on Belarusian TV. Several years of this propaganda led to the fact that the number of Belarusian citizens who wish to unite with Russia, has declined.

Sergei Markov believes that the last thesis is very important to directly Alexander Lukashenko, as «organizing such propaganda, he creates a breeding ground for his pro-Western opposition, who has already prepared a place in Milošević’s prison cell for him».

«Lukashenko has to be less suspicious in relation to Russia», Russian MP said. «And our leadership should set aside the subjective, cultural and psychological aspects, and pay more attention to the objective political and economic aspects».

According to Sergei Markov, a project of the Union State creation has not exhausted itself. «It has prospects and we have to work in such areas as adoption of the Constitution, formation of a single currency, formation of a comprehensive system of citizens’ equal rights, adoption of a single passport and integration of information space», the political analyst stressed.
