President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed his mind in Parliament on January 27 over the allegations that Minsk could do nothing without Moscow after December 19. "They say: they will strangle you here, crush, etc., the president's played a wrong game. The President has never played and is not playing now. We have a direct, clear-cut line, we see the goal," said the Belarusian leader.

According to the President, Belarus should develop cooperation with Russia and the West, but the relationship between the partners should be equal, BelTA informs.

«We were ready to build normal relations with the EU, but they turned out to play tricks with us: lulling, lulling, while quietly building their own plans in Warsaw, Brussels and Berlin. They’ve been financing the creation of the fifth column in Belarus,» said Alexander Lukashenko.

«We’ve never wanted to go away either from Russia or the West. This is our fate. We are in the heart of Europe and should be a strong bridge, linking East and West. And we will pursue this policy,» assured the president of Belarus.

The Belarusian leader stressed that Minsk would not «build a policy to get rid of Russian dependence and crawl on our knees to Europe.» «It’s not our way. We must see the target, move towards that goal. Do not play here and put a blame on me: «Well, now, Batska is going to the East. I’m not going anywhere — we will go to our goal,» concluded the Belarusian leader.
