Lukashenko Declared 2011 the Year of Enterprise

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko decided to declare 2011 the Year of enterprise. The corresponding decree was signed on February 3. In his view, the coming year, as the "start of a new five-year plan," designed to give a new impetus to the country, while society must "make a decisive breakthrough in all industries and occupations in order to reach the level of the advanced European countries."

«Enterprise, activity and initiative are the main driving forces for this breakthrough. Now representatives of any profession should be real masters of their destiny, creative and energetic people, but not just performers, following the pattern in their work,» the head of state.

As reported by the presidential press service, the announcement of 2011 as the year of enterprise intends to stress «good achievements of Belarus in creating favorable environment for business activity and represents the aspirations of the Belarusian state for the future, as well as focuses on priority support to business people.»

In addition, Alexander Lukashenko noted that the Year of enterprise facilitates the creation of the Belarusian economy new image, helps to unleash the economic activity and initiative, to create an atmosphere of healthy competition, an enabling environment for the introduction of new technologies in all spheres, as well as to improve the well-being and quality of life of the Belarusian citizens.
