President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited village Himy of Orsha district with only ten retired people of local dwellers, during his working trip to Vitsebsk voblast on May 11. Head of State was presented with a plan to revive the village as agribusiness with agricultural production. Having endorsed the projects, Alexander Lukashenko demanded from the local authorities "not to turn the village into the town."

«Let’s agree to build no towns here. What for do we need them here? This village must be revived as Alexandria. It is necessary to revive the village here, that’s it. One should organize production here and involve young people in it. But there should be no excess in construction,» the president said.

Alexander Lukashenko believes that the most important for the revival of the Belarusian villages is to keep their identities.

As reported by the presidential administration, it is planned to build a plant for bottling mineral water and drinking water in Himy by 2025 (the cost of the investment project is estimated at Br50 billion) and confectionary (investment project is estimated at Br40.5 billion).

It is also planned to develop the social sector district and engineering infrastructure: homes, shops, medical and obstetric point and point of consumer services, cafes and a kindergarten will be built in the village. The President stressed that these objects should be built when needed, and strictly forbade carrying out construction on arable lands.

About ten agricultural estates are projected in the village, but, according to the President, it is necessary to engage the initiative of private owners in the development of this trend, without affecting the budget.
