Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, claiming the next presidential term, does not know what else to promise to Belarusians. According to him, the presidential candidates "have already promised so much" to citizens that there is nothing more to promise. This was stated  by Head of State on December 11 at the closing gala concert of the socio-cultural action "We are Belarus!" in Minsk.

«I want to give you only one promise: those, willing to work, will always have a good job, but those, willing to have fun, will also have such an opportunity. You’ll have what you’ll earn. Nothing comes out of nowhere, so we’ll work hard,» President of Belarus said.

Alexander Lukashenko said that he’d received the invitation to take part in a gala concert a year ago. He believes that someone may consider his participation in this event as part of his election campaign, which is far from being the truth, as he says.

«That’s what I wouldn’t like most of all. And then I thought: the incumbent president will be to blame for everything, being done today, as if it’s me who’s responsible for elections, who’s making elections. I’ve given it up as lost — let them think,» Alexander Lukashenko said.

My Promises are Not Enough, Lukashenko

«I guarantee a completely normal life of your families. Great achievements of any state are to enable people to safely live in their country, as well as children to have the opportunity to learn and get comfortable way of life. That’s what I promise — jobs and a quiet life. But my promises are not enough to achieve this. We must protect what we’ve gained,» the head of state.

As reported in the administration of the Belarusian leader, about five thousand students from various universities of Minsk and regions arrived at a gala concert of famous Belarusian and foreign artists. President of Belarus had some informal talks with both students and artists during the concert.
