Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is trying to "pull" the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych into the "frank risky venture of Venezuelan oil transportation." This was stated by deputy head of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex of Ukraine, faction member of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, Aleksander Hudyma.

«It is already unprofitable from the standpoint of economy to supply oil tankers to Odessa and then by Odessa — Brody oil pipeline, let along oil transshipment by non-existent, and destroyed pipeline on the Pripyat River, which is definitely a shady enterprise,» Alexander Hudyma said.

In addition, the Ukrainian deputy drew attention to the fact that Ukraine has no refineries for processing Venezuelan oil, «Rosbalt» reports. «We are talking about the oil supply to our refineries, but we do not have such a plant that could recycle Venezuelan oil. Therefore, it is necessary to build again and again for this project, but we have no financial resources for this,» the expert said.

According to Telegraf, Belarusian State Concern «Belneftekhim» and local enterprise «Zirka» held negotiations on the conditions of Venezuelan crude oil transportation by river transport to be delivered to Mazyr through Ukraine by the Dnieper. The Belarusian party plans to carry out a trial oil supply by the river in April 2011.
