At a meeting with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Shuvalov, President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, declared that the Customs Union countries are able to agree "on two or three issues" important to the three countries. "The only thing we would like to have is that everything to be decent and any kind of our relations to be based on equality and respect", Belarusian leader stressed.
According to Belarusian head of state, if he sees such thing, he will be ready «to compromise, to make any concessions, even if they are rather difficult and appreciable for us for some time», BelTA informs.
«But if we see the oppression of our interests and disregard as towards the state so and towards our people, then, of course, we are not do that», Alexander Lukashenko warned.
In his turn, Igor Shuvalov noted that in the Customs Union there remain pending only the most appreciable for Belarus questions. In general, according to Russian vice-premier, all documents to launch the Customs Union from July 1 have been already prepared and signed.
As Telegraf previously reported, Belarus insists on the abolition of duties on Russian oil and petroleum products, which Russia introduced from January 1, 2010. Moreover, Minsk strived to maintain the same level of duties on cars imported by individuals. In this matter, Russia made concessions to Belarus and agreed not to insist on their decrease to the Russian level for the period of transition.
