Lukashenko Ordered to "Severely Curb" Price Rise

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on May 27 that the country's government needs to curb inflation any way. "Any increase in prices should be nipped in the bud from today," the president said at a meeting on the current situation in the consumer and FX market.

According to the Belarusian leader, prices can go up only with the permission of the Prime Minister and the governors, BelTA informs. «But one will have to prove that to eight people,» said President of Belarus.

Today there are no items today that need going up in price, added Alexander Lukashenko.

In addition, the head of state ordered to provide a full range of products in retail chains within week. «The government, governors, ministers do provide a full range of products in retail chains within a week. Chock-full!»  said President of Belarus.
