President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at the Eurasian National University after Gumilev in Astana on May 25, declared its readiness to release all the presidential candidates. "All of them seem to have been released, except for the two, being in the forefront. We'll probably free them as well.  No need to blow government money on prison, eating up bread," he stressed.

«Stop fitting us in other people’s patterns. The Europeans and Americans should find courage to abandon the false stereotypes and outdated attitudes,» said Alexander Lukashenko, AFN.

He noted that «it’s time to start establishing constructive cooperation for the benefit of our peoples.» «I don’t know if they understand us or not, but two days ago, the economic sanctions were not imposed as they wanted,» said the president.

No Democracy in Russia, Lukashenko

«We want to cooperate, but they put a spoke in the wheel and push the political environment … we are asked to cut up the power. We cannot cut the current constitutional system into pieces and distribute it between the groups, political parties,» the head state.

«Russian leadership has suddenly become too democratic. Lavrov (Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov — Telegraf) seems to have declared something about democracy and human rights. Look who is talking!» he said.
