Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko passes the appointment of new Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich for approval in the Parliament. The House of Representatives will hold an extraordinary meeting on this issue on January 27. The corresponding presidential decree was signed on Monday, January 17.

According to the press service of the Belarusian leader, the president took this decision in accordance with Part 6 of Article 95 of the Constitution of Belarus.

In addition to appointing the head of the government, the lower chamber of the Belarusian Parliament may also consider other issues at an extraordinary meeting, added the press service of Alexander Lukashenko.

As Telegraf previously reported, the president of Belarus considerably reshuffled the Belarusian government on December 28 and appointed chairman of the National Academy of Sciences Mikhail Miasnikovich the new Prime Minister.

At the same time, when appointing the ministers on December 29, there wasn’t a big change in contrast to the appointments, held on December 28.

Being appointed, the new Prime Minister of Belarus plans to reconsider the structure of the government. According to Mikhail Miasnikovich, several ministries have fulfilled their function and can be transformed into some other form of government, including the possible merger of several ministries into one.
