Lukashenko to go to Astana on Summit of Customs Union

The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko confirmed his participation in the summit of the Euroasian Economic Community which will take place in Astana from July, 4th till July, 5th. It is planned to finish formation of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia at the summit.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan Zhanar Aitzhanova informed on July,1st that «there is confirmation that the head of the Belarusian state will participate in the summit, and we also hope that decisions will be made at the meeting «, BelaPAN informs.

Earlier the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Yeudachenka stated that the final decision on the further development of the Customs Union would be accepted at the summit of the presidents of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan which will take place of from July, 4th till July, 5th in Astana.

Agreement on the Customs Code of the Customs Union was signed in Minsk on November 27, 2009. Its signing was caused by the need of legal framework of the Customs Union within the EurAsEC, taking in account the deepening of integration between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The purpose of the treaty is to ensure customs regulation on common customs territory of the Customs Union.
