Alexander Lukashenko stated on March 24 that the national production agricultural equipment would help avoid problems with foreign currency. "We need to reduce this timeframe at least twice and there will be no moaning and wailing over currency and other matters then. We need to twice condense in all issues. It is necessary to load the production," demanded the president of Belarus.
He said this during a visit to the Scientific and Practical Center of National Academy of Agricultural Mechanization, having learnt that farm equipment is now produced using foreign components. For example, the localization of the production of a certain model of combines is planned plan to implement at 60-65% level in three years.
Thus, Alexander Lukashenko demanded accelerated work on increasing the national component in the manufacture of agricultural machinery.
President was also interested in efficiency and material capacity of work. As noted in the academy, Belarusian products can compete with the imported counterparts by these indicators. Belarusian leader was informed that Scientific and Practical Center had developed 106 units of equipment for 2006-2010, as well as had organized mass production of 186 items of agricultural machinery. Decline in labor, electricity and fuel costs was called the main task of the production, BelTA informs.
In addition, the president was informed that the Belarusian scientists were seeking to reduce dependence on imports. So, they had developed and introduced a special technology to strengthen the metal, used for making plows. In addition, the localization of the manufacture of equipment for milking parlors is now approaching 90%.
Alexander Lukashenko examined the trends in development of equipment for flax, soil working units, as well as piloting innovative projects to create biogas with a capacity of 250 kilowatts.

Alexander Lukashenko was introduced to the directions of the Scientific and Practical Center of NAS of livestock, such as resource-saving technology for fattening pigs on the premises of simple structures. This method brings a gain of 600 grams per day in average. «The main thing is money, profit,» said the president.
He added that there should be developed specific criteria for evaluating the performance of the Scientific and Practical Center and similar organizations. «We need to have certain criteria to assess these points. It is very important,» said Alexander Lukashenko.
