About 180 thousand square meters of housing were removed from the commissioning in 2010. President Alexander Lukashenko was reported about this by chair of the State Control Committee of Belarus Alexander Jacobson on March 9. In this connection the Head of State demanded tighter control over the quality of housing construction.

In turn, the SCC head assured that the issues of housing, its quantity and quality would remain under strict control in 2011. Alexander Jacobson also said that in 2010 the number of inefficient projects, which recieved state support, amounted to about one-third of the subjects of management, checked by the committee, BelTA informs.

According to the SCC chairman, more than 3 thousand business entities receive state aid annually, but they haven’t reached the reported targets in recent years. Part of state funds is spent inefficiently, though most of them account for the implementation of individual investment and innovation projects. This, according to Alexander Yakobson, indicates the lack of efficiency in decision-making on state support, as well as the need to direct state funds solely onto the payback projects.

However, the chairman of the State Control Committee said that a number of economic entities, especially in the agro-industrial complex, couldn’t work effectively due to objective reasons.

In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko instructed to hold a serious analysis of the situation and report to him about the results. He demanded a deep analysis in the implementation of control functions from SCC. In response, Alexander Jacobson assured that analytical work would have a more extensive form in 2011.
