Lukashenko Wants to "Write a New Page" in Relations with the United States

Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, sent an official birthday greeting to the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. As reported in the press service of the head of state, Belarusian leader stated that Minsk and Washington would be able to "write a qualitatively new page in Belarus-US relations".

As reads the greeting, in Belarus American president is known as «principled, visionary and pragmatic politician». Moreover, in his greeting message, Alexander Lukashenko noted that «foreign policy approaches of the U.S. administration, aimed to search for new partners, to establish mutually respectful and free of stereotypes interaction with them, coincides with our understanding of principles of interstate cooperation development».

Belarusian leader also expressed confidence in that through joint efforts it would be possible to bring Belarus-US relations to a level of both countries’ interests.
