Lukashenko's Included in a "Black List" of 40 Printed Media Enemies

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, got into the "black list" of world leaders and organizations, which, according to Reporters Without Borders international organization, impede free activity of journalists. Publication of the list, which consists of 40 names, coincides with World Press Freedom Day celebrated on May 3.

«They are strong, dangerous, cruel, and they are above the law», reads the official report on the web-site of Reporters Without Borders. «These persecutors of freedom of the press are in power to censor, imprison, kidnap, torture and in the worst cases — kill journalists. Many of the current list’s participants get here not for the first time.

The «black list» of Reporters Without Borders includes 17 presidents and prime ministers. There are: PRC president Hu Jintao, president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Cuban leader Raul Castro and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Also, there are the leaders of former Soviet republics in the list: Islam Karimov, Ilham Aliyev, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov and Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In Italy, the mafia is recognized as the main enemy of the press, in Spain — ETA terrorist organization, in Somalia — Armed Islamists, and in Afghanistan — one of the leaders of the Taliban Mullah Omar.
